Las Positas College did not increase in-state tuition fees for the 2022-23 school year, as revealed in the latest report, according to the latest disclosure from the National Center for Education Statistics.

California residents paid $1,168 to attend the two-year public college in both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 academic years.

Non-resident students faced tuition costs that were 600% higher than those for residents in 2022-23, amounting to $8,176. This represented a 6.3% decrease from the $8,728 charged in 2021-22.

Approximately 95% of the undergraduate student body at Las Positas College are California residents, while international students make up about 3%.

Data indicates that 38% of full-time undergraduates who enrolled in 2022-23 received some form of student financial aid. A total of 273 students were awarded grants or scholarships amounting to $2.1 million.

Across all undergraduate students, 2,154 individuals utilized grants or scholarships totaling $9.6 million. Additionally, 16 students borrowed $105,712 in federal student loans.

Meanwhile, student loan debt has steadily increased over the last 30 years, reaching $1.75 trillion in 2024, averaging a total of $28,950 per borrower. Federal loans make up 92% of the debt, with over half of students at both public and private four-year colleges graduating with student loans.
