Rep. Eric Swalwell, who has represented California’s 14th district in the U.S. Congress since 2013, recently addressed constituents and national issues through a series of posts on his official Twitter account.
On February 23, Swalwell posted a message directed at his district’s residents traveling abroad: “CA-14 constituents: If you are currently in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and need assistance, please contact my office immediately at (510) 370-3322. Americans should stay safe, follow local guidance, and shelter in place as needed.”
Two days later, on February 24, he announced an invitation to Teresa Helm for the State of the Union address: “I’m inviting Teresa Helm as my guest to the State of the Union because she has been waiting for justice for more than two decades. Teresa’s bravery exposed the Epstein cover-up. The President owes her—and all survivors—answers.”
On February 25, Swalwell commented on economic conditions under former President Trump: “Trump claims the economy is booming but the average additional cost to California families for basic living expenses INCREASED by over $2,000 in 2025. #SOTU”
Swalwell was born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980 and currently resides in Livermore. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2003 and completed his law degree at the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2006.
