Rep. Eric Swalwell, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 14th district since 2013, recently shared personal and political updates through a series of social media posts.
On March 16, 2026, Swalwell recounted a moment with his daughter: “I learned a new phrase tonight from my 7-year-old daughter. I couldn’t find the remote. She spotted it easily and reacted to my surprise with, ‘that’s because I have ‘GIRL EYES’ daddy.’ What?!”
Later that day, he addressed an immigration issue involving a family separated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE): “Joseph and his little brother should be in school; instead, ICE deported them with their mom to Colombia and withheld Joseph’s hearing devices. I’m demanding answers and pushing to bring this family home. My team already delivered hearing aids to Joseph — now let’s get him back.” This statement highlights Swalwell’s ongoing involvement in advocacy for immigrant families.
On March 17, 2026, Swalwell marked St. Patrick’s Day with greetings reflecting both his local ties and cultural heritage: “Happy St. Patrick’s Day! From my hometown of Dublin to communities across the country, today we celebrate Irish heritage, local traditions, and the spirit that brings us together. Stay safe, enjoy the festivities, and may a little luck find its way to you!”
Eric Swalwell was born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980 and currently resides in Livermore. He graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2003 with a BA before earning his JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2006.
