Rep. Eric Swalwell, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 14th district since 2013, posted several comments on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on August 6, 2025, addressing current events and public figures.

At 13:30 UTC, Swalwell wrote: “A family meeting. Yeah this is how the mob does it, too.” The context of this post was not immediately clear from the tweet itself.

Later in the afternoon at 15:10 UTC, he posted another message referencing unidentified individuals: “These guys look like ANTIFA. Show your faces.”

By early evening at 17:00 UTC, Swalwell commented on a violent incident involving military personnel in Georgia. He stated: “I am heartbroken to hear of the horrific shooting at Fort Stewart in Georgia. My thoughts are with the victims and their families. Our servicemembers deserve to be safe at home and abroad.”

Eric Swalwell has been active in Congress since replacing Pete Stark in 2013. Born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980 and currently residing in Livermore, he holds degrees from the University of Maryland—earning a BA from College Park in 2003 and a JD from Baltimore in 2006.
