Representative Eric Swalwell, who serves California’s 14th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing issues related to immigration enforcement and violence against a fellow lawmaker.
On January 24, 2026, Swalwell addressed Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) directly in a post, stating: “My advice to ICE: Walk off the job. If you’re better than this, show us.”
A few hours later on January 25, 2026, he commented on an incident involving another member of Congress: “Horrified to hear about the violent, racist attack on my friend @RepMaxwellFrost. I’m glad he’s OK. Every colleague of mine needs to condemn this.”
On January 27, 2026, Swalwell posted a brief inquiry regarding someone’s well-being: “Are you OK?”
Eric Swalwell has represented California’s 14th district since 2013 after succeeding Pete Stark. He was born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980 and currently resides in Livermore.
