Representative Eric Swalwell, who has served California’s 14th District in the U.S. Congress since 2013, recently addressed several policy and political issues through his social media posts. Swalwell, a graduate of the University of Maryland and resident of Livermore, used his platform to engage with constituents and officials on topics ranging from immigration enforcement to international trade.

On July 13, 2025, Swalwell posted a tweet without additional commentary or context: https://t.co/jBuPzzhfOn.

In a post dated July 14, 2025, Swalwell addressed former acting ICE Director Tom Homan and the Department of Homeland Security regarding immigration enforcement. He wrote: “How about this @RealTomHoman and @DHSgov — tell me and America the top 100 VIOLENT criminal immigrants in America you want to deport. I’ll help you find them. There’s a lot of us who will help you. Let’s get serious. *Great idea from @mcuban”.

Later that day, on July 14, 2025, Swalwell commented on transatlantic economic relations: “The EU-USA trade relationship simply cannot be ruined. You were promised lower prices on day 1, and this is not how you’re going to get them.”

Eric Swalwell was born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980 and is currently 42 years old. He succeeded Pete Stark as representative for California’s 14th district in Congress.
