Rep. Eric Swalwell, who represents California’s 14th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on social media addressing recent national events and policy concerns.

On July 18, 2025, Swalwell expressed condolences following an incident involving law enforcement: “My thoughts and condolences are with the families and loved ones of the deputies who lost their lives in today’s devastating explosion. My team and I are closely monitoring the situation.”

Two days later, on July 20, 2025, he commented on presidential priorities amid public concern over economic issues: “You asked the president to lower prices. He’s focused on re-naming NFL teams.”

On July 21, 2025, Swalwell addressed immigration policy enforcement and alleged preferential treatment for political figures: “If you know a Republican member of Congress like Chip Roy, you get special treatment and escape Trump’s cruel immigration orders.”

Swalwell has represented California’s 14th District since 2013 after succeeding Pete Stark. Born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980, he currently resides in Livermore. His educational background includes a BA from the University of Maryland, College Park (2003) and a JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore (2006).
