Rep. Eric Swalwell, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 14th district since 2013, recently posted a series of statements on his Twitter account addressing political controversies, community issues, and personal anecdotes.
On February 15, 2026, Swalwell responded to allegations connecting him with former President Donald Trump in a tweet: “LOL. So one loser sends another loser a NEWS ARTICLE with my name in it and the cover up clan at the DOJ wants to put me in the same drawer as Donald Trump.
Doesn’t work that way. Trump is a friend of the Pedos. I’m their worst nightmare.”
The following day, on February 16, Swalwell addressed issues related to hate speech against Muslim Americans: “America is BETTER because of our Muslim community.
*And we are WORSE when assholes like this guy spout hate. Every Republican who fails to call out this vitriol only gives it more oxygen.”
Later that same day, he referenced his own past writings in a lighter post: “You think my poetry at 19 was bad? Wait til you see my 12-yr old diary.”
Eric Swalwell has represented California’s 14th district since replacing Pete Stark in Congress in 2013. Born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980 and currently residing in Livermore, Swalwell holds both a BA from the University of Maryland, College Park (2003) and a JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore (2006).
