Rep. Eric Swalwell, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 14th district since 2013, posted a series of comments on social media addressing political developments and public figures between August 23 and August 24, 2025.
On August 23, Swalwell addressed Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Rep. Kevin Kiley of California regarding redistricting in Texas, stating: “Hi Governor @GregAbbott_TX, meet @RepKiley of CA. Your little rigdistricting stunt in Texas just cost Kevin and 4 of his friends their seats. Worth it?”
Later that day, Swalwell commented on speculation about California Governor Gavin Newsom potentially receiving the Nobel Prize: “I just talked to some friends in Norway, where the Nobel Prize is awarded. They’re saying “Nobel Newsom” is all the buzz. Pack your bags, @GavinNewsom, you’re going to Oslo!”
On August 24, he posted another message referencing “PFC. Bone Spurs,” with a link to an external image or article: “PFC. Bone Spurs, is that you? https://t.co/k7qCSou3gm”
Swalwell has served as a member of Congress for over a decade after replacing Pete Stark in 2013. Born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980 and currently residing in Livermore, Swalwell holds degrees from the University of Maryland—earning a BA in 2003 and a JD from its Baltimore campus in 2006.
