Rep. Eric Swalwell, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 14th district since 2013, posted a series of tweets on August 19 and 20, 2025, addressing issues ranging from social media commentary to voting rights.

On August 19, Swalwell shared a brief message featuring an emoji and a link: ” https://t.co/SQRy7ecOke”.

Later that day, he addressed Dinesh D’Souza in a pointed tweet questioning the views of Rep. Brandon Gill: “Dinesh, does your Nepo-son-in-law @RepBrandonGill also believe slavery was good? https://t.co/RMPdVxCGyQ” (August 20).

On August 20, Swalwell commented on election security and mail-in voting: “Voting by mail is safe, secure, and vital for millions of Americans. Trump’s plan to ban it is a desperate attempt to rig elections, not protect them.

Eric Swalwell has served as the representative for California’s 14th District since replacing Pete Stark in 2013. Born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980 and currently residing in Livermore, Swalwell earned his BA from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2003 and his JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2006.
