Representative Eric Swalwell, who serves California’s 14th district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing political controversies and commemorating a legislative milestone.

On August 13, 2025, Swalwell commented on allegations from a whistleblower during the Trump administration. He wrote: “This ‘whistleblower’ made this bullshit up when Trump was President. If they had anything, they would have indicted me. Trump would have done anything to destroy me if he could have. They didn’t indict me. Therefore, they had nothing. What’s next?”

The following day, August 14, 2025, Swalwell posted another message regarding former President Donald Trump: “WISHING PRESIDENT TRUMP A SAFE TRIP TO RUSSIA!”

Later that same day, he marked an important anniversary for American social policy by stating: “Today we celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Social Security Act. On this anniversary, let’s renew our commitment to protect and strengthen it, not endanger it.”

Eric Swalwell has represented California’s 14th District since replacing Pete Stark in 2013 and continues to serve in Congress as of this year. Born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980 and currently residing in Livermore at age 42, Swalwell holds degrees from the University of Maryland—earning a BA in College Park (2003) and a JD from Baltimore (2006).
