U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell, who has served California’s 14th district in Congress since 2013, posted a series of statements on his official social media account between April 6 and April 7, 2026, addressing Senate procedures, astronaut safety, and presidential removal.

On April 6, Swalwell wrote: “Dems should no longer vote for a SINGLE nominee. And make it clear that leading the senate will mean NO Supreme Court Justices, NO cabinet appointments, NO tyranny.”

The following day, he commented on astronaut safety with the statement: “Those astronauts are the safest humans in the universe right now.” (April 7).

Later on April 7, Swalwell addressed concerns about presidential leadership: “The President must be removed. If Congress is too cowardly to do it, his own Cabinet must.”

Eric Swalwell was born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980 and currently resides in Livermore. He holds a BA from the University of Maryland, College Park (2003) and a JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore (2006). He succeeded Pete Stark as representative for California’s 14th district.
