Rep. Eric Swalwell, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 14th district since 2013, posted a series of statements on his Twitter account addressing issues related to immigration enforcement and international events.

On March 18, 2026, Swalwell criticized the actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), writing: “Case In Point Abolish ICE. A California man illegally loses his freedom for days because of ‘untrained’ ICE agent. Not getting a penny from me.”

The following day, on March 19, he posted a brief message: “Twenty-Fifth”.

Later that same day, Swalwell referenced the upcoming World Cup and legislative efforts in Congress, stating: “The World Cup is our chance to showcase our best. I introduced legislation so we can focus on welcoming people from around the world—not scaring them away.”

Swalwell has served in Congress since replacing Pete Stark in 2013. He was born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980 and currently resides in Livermore. Swalwell holds degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park (BA) and the University of Maryland, Baltimore (JD).
