Rep. Eric Swalwell, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 14th district since 2013, recently posted a series of messages on his social media account addressing federal immigration policy and responding to comments from Senator Ted Cruz.
On February 3, 2026, Swalwell called for action regarding the funding of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), stating: “Today, we send a message: Shut down ICE’s funding so we never again see the murder of a nurse named Pretti or a mom named Good.”
In another post on February 4, 2026, he addressed Senator Ted Cruz directly: “Don’t come for California, Ted. You can always count on @SenTedCruz to defend his weird conspiracy theories more passionately than he defends his wife from Trump.”
Later that same day, Swalwell posted a brief message with a link: “They found out”.
Eric Swalwell has been active in Congress since replacing Pete Stark in 2013. Born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980 and currently residing in Livermore, he is an alumnus of the University of Maryland, where he earned both his undergraduate and law degrees.
