Representative Eric Swalwell, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 14th district since 2013, used his social media platform in early February 2026 to comment on issues ranging from national values to immigration enforcement and celebrity endorsements.
On February 1, Swalwell posted, “You want to make America great? Look at the people who made America good when it wasn’t being great to them.”
The following day, on February 2, he addressed both popular culture and legislative matters in a tweet: “1) Big congrats to Bad Bunny and 2) @RepDanGoldman, did Bad Bunny just endorse our ICE OUT bill to finally hold them accountable?”
Later that same day, Swalwell criticized funding for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), writing: “The bodies are piling up. And ICE wants MORE money? More money for ICE means more murders of nurses named Pretti and moms named Good.”
Eric Swalwell has served as a congressional representative for California’s 14th District since replacing Pete Stark in 2013. He was born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980 and currently resides in Livermore. Swalwell earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2003 and received his law degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2006.
