Rep. Eric Swalwell, who represents California’s 14th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on February 4 and 5, 2026, addressing political leadership in California, a personal anecdote involving his children, and an upcoming Bay Area concert.

On February 4, Swalwell praised recent actions by California’s state government under Governor Gavin Newsom. In his post he wrote: “SHOW, not tell” leadership is what California just did. Led by @CAgovernor Newsom, we fought Trump, and we won. All Dem governors must take notice. Now is the time to fight and protect. The tweet references ongoing tensions between Democratic-led states and former President Donald Trump’s policies.

The following day, Swalwell responded to another user with a personal story: ***Except most recently when my 8-year-old and 7-year-old were playing basketball and I asked them to move so your older son could have the court. You kindly said don’t worry about it. But sure, keep your WWE costume on, Greg! The context of this exchange suggests a lighthearted or possibly sarcastic interaction related to youth sports.

Later on February 5, Swalwell commented on local events in the Bay Area: “The Bay Area is proud to host a Bad Bunny concert this Sunday” — LOL. Spoken like a true member of The Faithful, Assemblymember @PatrickAhrens1. #BangBangNinerGang This tweet highlights community engagement around entertainment events in Northern California.

Swalwell has served as a member of Congress since replacing Pete Stark in 2013 and continues to represent constituents from Livermore and surrounding areas in California’s East Bay region (https://swalwell.house.gov/about/full-biography). Born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980 and now age 42, he holds degrees from the University of Maryland at College Park (BA) and the University of Maryland School of Law (JD).
