Rep. Eric Swalwell, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 14th district since 2013, has taken to social media to express his views on recent political developments. Born in Sac City, Iowa, and currently residing in Livermore, Swalwell has been an active voice in Congress since succeeding Pete Stark. He holds a BA from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.

On June 10, 2025, Rep. Swalwell commented on pardons issued by a political figure. In his tweet he stated: “Bro you pardoned 1,600 people who beat up cops”.

Later that day, Swalwell addressed the use of military personnel in domestic affairs. He tweeted: “America agrees: this is NOT how we use our Marines.”

In another post on the same day, Swalwell criticized former President Donald Trump’s treatment of military troops. He remarked: “This is how Donald Trump treats the troops he deploys. He sees them as suckers and losers whose only purpose is to act on his political whims. Disgusting.”
