U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell, who serves California’s 14th district in Congress, posted a series of tweets on August 20 and 21, 2025, addressing topics ranging from party politics to military leadership and sports.
On August 20, Swalwell criticized a fellow lawmaker for public complaints regarding redistricting reforms. In his post he wrote: “Pathetic! Don’t tweet at the Speaker. He’s in your party. Go talk to him!
Kiley votes against redistricting reforms his WHOLE career and ONLY speaks up once his seat is taken to level our crooked Texas.
Good riddance!” The tweet referenced intra-party disagreements and the impact of redistricting on congressional seats.
Later that day, Swalwell commented on the legacy of American military leaders by referencing historical battles and making a pointed remark about media personality Pete Hegseth. He stated: “America’s military leaders have presided over some of the most consequential battles in the history of the world.
Little Round Top
D-Day
Abbottabad
That tradition continues as @PeteHegseth commands the defense of Lululemon.
Godspeed, Pete!”
On August 21, Swalwell offered support to Team USA with a brief message: “Good luck, Coach and to Team USA!”
Eric Swalwell has represented California’s 14th district since 2013 after succeeding Pete Stark. Born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980, he currently resides in Livermore and holds degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park (BA) and University of Maryland, Baltimore (JD).
