Rep. Eric Swalwell, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 14th district since 2013, posted several tweets on July 16, 2025, addressing the ongoing debate over the release of the Epstein Files and comments made by former President Donald Trump.

In one tweet posted at 02:14 UTC, Swalwell wrote, “All i read is blah blah blah you’re blocking the Epstein Files. Are you for real Mini Mike? https://t.co/tTmhbOXSpZ”.

Later that day at 18:36 UTC, he added, “Donald Trump just called his supporters “STUPID PEOPLE” for asking to see the Epstein Files that HE promised them.

Man, you must really not want those files out if you’re more willing to call your supporters STUPID than you are to release the files.”
