Rep. Eric Swalwell, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 14th district since 2013, has recently taken to social media to express his views on various issues. Swalwell, who was born in Sac City, Iowa, and currently resides in Livermore, California, shared his thoughts through a series of tweets.

On July 8, 2025, Swalwell praised Petty Officer Scott Ruskan for his heroic actions. He stated “Petty Officer Scott Ruskan displayed extraordinary heroism, leading to the rescue of 165 girls in Texas. His courage and strength are truly commendable, thank you for your service.”

Later that day, he commented on the situation at MacArthur Park. In his tweet from July 8, 2025, he remarked “MacArthur Park is not a war zone. It is a playground, a picnic spot, a community spot. But you wouldn’t know that looking at it now. Why send armed agents to terrorize a community?”

On July 9, 2025, Swalwell addressed former President Donald Trump with a succinct statement: “Trump only understands ONE language. Strength.”

Eric Swalwell graduated from the University of Maryland with both a BA and JD by 2006.
