Representative Eric Swalwell, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 14th District since 2013, recently posted a series of tweets regarding developments on the House floor concerning the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein. Swalwell, born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980 and currently residing in Livermore, is known for his active presence on social media.

On July 15, 2025, Swalwell alerted followers to ongoing proceedings with a tweet stating: ” VOTE RIGHT NOW on House Floor to release Epstein Files. Check how your Representative has voted.”

Later that day, he commented on Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene’s voting behavior with another post: “As predicted. Completely full of shit. @RepMTG votes to keep Epstein Files buried. *After posting nonsense tweet saying she wants them released.” This tweet referenced an apparent contradiction between Greene’s public statements and her vote.

In a subsequent tweet on July 15, 2025, Swalwell referenced Speaker Mike Johnson’s authority by stating: “If only Mike Johnson had subpoena power. He could do a lot!”

Eric Swalwell graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2003 with a BA and earned his JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2006.
