Rep. Eric Swalwell, who has represented California’s 14th district in the U.S. Congress since 2013, posted a series of critical tweets on July 22 and July 23, 2025, addressing topics related to prosecutors, political opponents, and former President Donald Trump.

On July 22, Swalwell questioned the rationale behind firing a prosecutor by stating: “Cool story. So you fired a qualified prosecutor because an unqualified hack got fired? 3-D chess!” On July 23, he commented on political adversaries with: “MAGA morons owned by Grok”. Later that day, he addressed the issue of classified files allegedly held by Donald Trump: “You
Don’t
Need
A
Judge

Trump has the files. Why won’t HE release them?”

Eric Swalwell was born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980 and currently resides in Livermore. He graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a BA in 2003 and earned his JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2006.
