Rep. Eric Swalwell, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 14th District since 2013, recently took to social media to question the voting decisions of several of his congressional colleagues regarding a particular bill. Born in Sac City, Iowa, Swalwell now resides in Livermore and holds degrees from the University of Maryland.

On July 2, 2025, Swalwell expressed concern over Rep. Gabe Evans’ (CO-08) support for a bill that could negatively impact thousands. He stated that “29,276 people would lose access to their healthcare. 29,494 households could lose access to their food assistance. 886 energy jobs could be lost.”

Later that day, he questioned Rep. David Schweikert’s (AZ-01) vote on the same bill by highlighting potential repercussions: “31,400 would lose access to their healthcare. 18,700 households could lose access to their food assistance.”

In another post on July 2nd, Swalwell addressed Rep. Juan Ciscomani’s (AZ-06) decision to support the legislation by pointing out that “31,925 people would lose access to their healthcare. 29,865 households could lose access to their food assistance. 4,520 energy jobs could be lost.”

Eric Swalwell continues his legislative work while residing in Livermore and holding degrees from both the University of Maryland College Park and Baltimore.
