The following day, on March 27, 2026, he questioned the use of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel at airports: “If our cities are so dangerous, why can we spare ICE officers to hand out water bottles at airports? Abolish ICE”.

In another post on March 27, Swalwell criticized FBI Director Kash Patel’s actions: “All while @FBIDirectorKash Patel is INTENTLY focused on using the FBI to go after Trump’s enemies. How will he justify this? https://t.co/y4A362e3zP”.
