Eric Swalwell, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 14th district since 2013, recently made comments regarding Pete Hegseth through a series of tweets. Swalwell, who was born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980 and now resides in Livermore, graduated from the University of Maryland with both a BA and a JD.

On March 24, 2025, Swalwell questioned whether Pete Hegseth had resigned yet. He wrote: “Wait. Pete Hegseth hasn’t resigned yet?”

The following day, on March 25, 2025, he commented on Hegseth’s employment status by stating: “Pete Hegseth thinks we should fire Pete Hegseth.”

Later that same day, Swalwell further critiqued Hegseth by expressing doubt over his actions concerning the Espionage Act but confidently asserting a violation of another standard: “I’ll let the experts figure out if Hegseth violated the Espionage Act. I KNOW he violated the Don’t Be an Idiot Act.”
