Eric Swalwell, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 14th district since 2013, recently shared a series of tweets addressing various political and social issues. Born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980, Swalwell has been active in public service for over a decade. He holds degrees from the University of Maryland and currently resides in Livermore.
On May 14, 2025, Swalwell questioned South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem about the authenticity of a photograph by asking, “Let’s try this again @Sec_Noem. Is this a doctored photo?” The tweet included links to images presumably related to the query.
The following day, on May 15, 2025, Swalwell commented on Sean Duffy’s responsibilities with a post stating, “I don’t need Sean Duffy to climb trees. I need him to land planes safely. Why don’t we start with that?” This remark appears to be a critique or suggestion regarding Duffy’s professional duties.
Later that same day, Swalwell tweeted another question concerning an image or portrayal of an individual resembling Abraham Lincoln: “Is he supposed to look as old as Lincoln…If Lincoln were still alive today? Why would they do this?” The context suggests commentary on historical representation or imagery.
Swalwell has been serving California’s 14th District since replacing Pete Stark in 2013. His educational background includes a BA from the University of Maryland, College Park and a JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
