Rep. Eric Swalwell, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 14th district since 2013, has recently shared his thoughts on various political issues through social media posts. Born in Sac City, Iowa, and currently residing in Livermore, Swalwell graduated from the University of Maryland with a BA and later earned his JD.
On March 19, 2025, Rep. Swalwell questioned former President Trump’s interactions with foreign leaders in a tweet: “Any word on how Trump’s employee review call went today with Putin?”
Later that day, he addressed inquiries about potential divisions within the Democratic Party by stating: “People keep asking me if Dems are divided between left and center of party. Nope. We are divided over old and new ways of fighting. That 20th Century playbook ain’t stopping a dictator.”
In another post on March 19, Swalwell challenged an unnamed congressional colleague regarding impeachment proceedings: “If this guy is really in Congress he knows he can bring his ‘impeachment’ articles IMMEDIATELY to a vote. He won’t do that because he knows myself and a few other Dems (I’m looking at you @RepJasmine) will beat back this bullshit on the House Floor.”
