Rep. Eric Swalwell, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 14th district since 2013, posted several messages on January 19, 2026, reflecting on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
In one post, Swalwell asked, “If MLK were alive today, where would he be?” (January 19, 2026). Later that day, he wrote, “Today, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy by continuing the fight for justice, equality, and democracy.” (January 19, 2026). In a subsequent tweet posted hours later, Swalwell simply stated: “25” (January 19, 2026).
Eric Swalwell has represented California’s 14th district in Congress since replacing Pete Stark in 2013. Born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980 and currently residing in Livermore at age 42, Swalwell earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2003 and his law degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2006.
