Eric Swalwell, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 14th district since 2013, recently shared his views on various political matters through a series of tweets. Born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980 and currently residing in Livermore, Swalwell has been an active participant in political discourse.

On July 9, 2025, Swalwell expressed his frustration with the current state of leadership by stating “Dumbasses. Our country is run by dumbasses.” This tweet reflects his critical stance on those managing national affairs.

Later that day, he commented on a decision made by former President Donald Trump regarding international relations. Swalwell tweeted “What about us? Trump chose 1 Brazilian over 340 Million.” This statement questions the prioritization of foreign interests over domestic concerns.

On July 10, 2025, Swalwell acknowledged a positive development in the field of national security and industry. He congratulated MP Materials for their collaboration with the Department of Defense: “Congratulations to @MPMaterials on their groundbreaking partnership with @DeptofDefense! This investment supercharges America’s rare earth magnet production, bolsters national security, reduces foreign dependence, and creates good-paying jobs.” This partnership is seen as a strategic move to enhance American capabilities and reduce reliance on foreign resources.

Eric Swalwell has served in Congress since replacing Pete Stark in 2013. He holds degrees from the University of Maryland and continues to reside actively within his community while engaging with national issues.
