CITY OF MARTINEZ: Martinez Outdoor Dining and Retail Program Temporarily Suspended Due to the Bay Area Health Officers and Contra Costa County Stay-At-Home Orders

Dining

City of Martinez issued the following announcement on Dec. 11

Due to the Bay Area Health Officers and Contra Costa County new Stay-At-Home orders, which recently went into effect due to the recent rise in COVID-19 cases, the City of Martinez Outdoor Restaurant Seating/Retail Display Program has been suspended.

The City looks forward to resuming the Outdoor Dining and Retail Program as soon as the County order is lifted or revised to allow the continuation of outdoor dining and retail. In the meantime, Martinez residents and visitors are encouraged to support our local businesses as the current County order still allows restaurant take-out and delivery as well as indoor retail at 20% capacity. The City has created a list of open Martinez businesses, which can be found here: https://bit.ly/3oNaZwH

To facilitate convenient restaurant take-out and retail pick-up, the City has created 26 downtown pick-up spaces in 16 locations. Click here to view a map showing the locations of these curbside spaces.

Launched on June 12, the City of Martinez Outdoor Program gives merchants the opportunity to provide outdoor dining and shopping experiences for their customers. By allowing businesses to use portions of City sidewalks, streets, and/or public and private parking lots during specified days and times to spread out their dining and retail services, the Program aims to give a boost to Martinez business owners, when the current County Health Order allows these outdoor business activities.

Businesses wishing to participate in the Outdoor Dining/Retail Program are encouraged to submit a no-fee Application here prior to the Program’s reinstatement. For Application questions, please contact zseal@cityofmartinez.org.
