Patent office approves 10 patents for Pleasanton innovators in week ending Aug. 8

Patent 5

There were 10 patents granted in Pleasanton in the week ending Aug. 8, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

This is four more than the week before. Patents included a systems, methods, and media for de novo assembly of whole genome sequence data.

The earliest patent filed which was granted in the week ending Aug. 8 belonged to Ganalila, LLC who filed in March 11, 2014.

The number of approved patents in the U.S. grew steadily from roughly 225,000 in 2009 to more than 285,000 in 2019. The number of patents approved suffered a slight downturn in 2020.

Gene Quinn with IPWatchdog said the system underneath patents have become unwieldy, specifically for medical innovations.
