Discover the wonders of space with LPRD Mad Science Workshop

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with Mad Science of Kansas City, is offering a camp that will keep children learning and having fun over winter break.

Space Camp will teach students six years-old to 12 years-old how astronauts live and work in space. Through missions and fun activities, children will learn about the sun, moon, stars, gravity and more. Participants will need to bring a snack and a sack lunch.

Space Camp will be held 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21 at Sports Pavilion Lawrence®, 100 Rock Chalk Lane. Cost for the program is $72 per student.

Other Mad Science Workshops will also be available over winter break, including The Organ Trail, Scene of the Crime, Edison’s Workbench, and Chemical Counting.
