Rep. Eric Swalwell, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 14th district since 2013, has recently shared his thoughts on various issues through a series of tweets. Swalwell, who succeeded Pete Stark and holds degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park and Baltimore, took to social media to express his opinions on taxation and trade policies.

On February 3, 2025, Rep. Swalwell posted a tweet expressing amusement with an "LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL" followed by links to two images or videos. The post can be viewed here.

In another tweet on the same day, he criticized former President Trump for policy changes affecting tax filing services: "Until today you could file your taxes FOR FREE. Trump just took that from you." This statement is available here.

The following day, February 4, 2025, Swalwell joined forces with fellow House Democrats in urging President Biden to end what they termed as the "dumbest trade war in history." He stated that tariffs harm U.S. jobs and increase costs for American families while also negatively impacting allies: "I joined @RepGregStanton and other House Democrats to call on @POTUS to end the 'dumbest trade war in history.' Tariffs kill US jobs, raise prices for American families, and hurt our allies. It’s common sense." The full post can be accessed here.
