Rep. Eric Swalwell, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California's 14th district, has recently made several statements via social media regarding government operations and his upcoming activities. On February 18, 2025, Rep. Swalwell expressed concerns about the state of government funding through a tweet: "As we approach vote on government funding, let’s make one thing CLEAR: The government is already shutdown. Trump and Musk shut it down. GOP in Congress did nothing to stop them."
Later that day, he announced a town hall meeting intended to update constituents on current events in Washington D.C., as well as his priorities for the year ahead. He invited participation via Facebook Live at 6:30 PM PT with the message: "I'm hosting a town hall meeting in Union City TODAY to update you on what's happening in D.C. and share my priorities for the year ahead. And as always—I want to hear from YOU."
