Rep. Eric Swalwell, a representative for California's 14th district, is active on social media, where he shares updates concerning legislative developments and political opinions. Swalwell, who succeeded Pete Stark in 2013, often uses his platform to engage with legislative matters and political issues.

On April 9, 2025, Swalwell announced that his BABES Act passed markup unanimously and is headed to the House Floor. The bill aims to ensure safe and hygienic screenings for breast milk and formula by the TSA, aiming to provide parents peace of mind while traveling with families.

Later that day, Swalwell voiced his opinion on former President Donald Trump, questioning the impact of Trump’s actions on citizens' financial security. He stated, "Trump caved but was your 401k saved? What a shitshow..." Swalwell's comments imply dissatisfaction with Trump's tenure, particularly regarding economic stability and leadership quality.

On April 10, 2025, Swalwell criticized the House Republicans' proposed legislation, the so-called “SAVE Act.” According to him, the act blocks nearly 70 million women from registering to vote due to name changes after marriage. Swalwell interpreted the act as an infringement on voting rights and expressed firm opposition saying, "They want to disappear your rights, but we’re not going away."

Swalwell, 42, born in Sac City, Iowa, is a graduate of the University of Maryland. He holds a BA from College Park, obtained in 2003, and a JD from Baltimore, completed in 2006. He currently resides in Livermore, representing California's 14th district in the U.S. Congress since 2013.
