Dear PUSD community,

As we transition to the holiday break, I want to express my gratitude to each of you - our PUSD staff, families and students - for being a vital part of what makes the Pleasanton community such an amazing place to live, work, and raise a family. It continues to be a blessing to serve as your Superintendent and I am particularly grateful to have seen important future-oriented initiatives successfully engaged to take PUSD well into the future.

We have accomplished so much together this past year, including nearing the completion of our major Measure I1 projects and passing a new bond (Measure I) that will ensure the facility improvement work continues to benefit our students and staff. In the coming few months, we will begin the move into new district offices and kickoff of the first Measure I projects. These early activities will likely include relocating our early childhood programs, replacing the middle school tracks/fields, and reimagining the Village High School (Educational Options Center) campus. Critical capital improvement projects at sites, including Foothill and Amador Valley high schools, will enter the community engagement stage of the design process. There truly are exciting times ahead of us.

Regardless of how your family celebrates the holidays, I hope they bring you together with those you care about most. Please be safe as you make personal and family choices relating to travel. I look forward to seeing you - our world-class team of public servants - as we welcome the new year and work together to support the academic success of each student.

Over the course of the next few weeks, I hope you all find time to rest and recharge. Remember that not everyone experiences the holidays in the same way. So, be kind to those around you, and don't forget to check in on those who may be experiencing their holidays after suffering a loss. A kind word or warm hug are often the most important gifts we can ever give.
