NEW CALIFORNIA HIGH SCHOOL REQUIREMENT FOR SENIORS!
What: Starting in the 2022-23 academic school year, high schools and school districts (Local Educational Agencies) will need to ensure that all 12th graders in the state of California complete a FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application, unless the student has formally submitted an opt-out waiver. The goal of “All In for FAFSA/CA Dream Act” is to expand access to financial aid to thousands of students who may have otherwise not been aware of these opportunities. California Assembly Bill 132
Who: All seniors must complete the FAFSA or Dream Act Application. Learn which application applies to you. Students of all income levels applying to all types of post-secondary programs need to apply. Many colleges require the FAFSA or Dream Act Application for merit based scholarships or even to be able to participate in different programs at the colleges. FAFSA or the Dream Act Application is not only for students who intend to apply for need-based scholarships or grants.
How: Go to the online FAFSA Application or CA Dream Act Application.
*To be prepared for your online application, complete this FAFSA on the web worksheet or CA Dream Act worksheet

- Your Social Security Number (if you have one)
- Your Alien Registration number (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
