Science Odyssey Logo Contest Now OPEN!

  • •    We are excited to announce that our annual Science Odyssey will take place in person this year at Junction TK-8 School! Mark your calendars for March 8 & 9, 2023! This will be an exciting opportunity for students to showcase their love of science and engineering to our community.Students in grades 6 - 12 are invited to also participate in the Alameda County Science and Engineering Fair, to be held March 24-26, 2023 at Ohlone College Newark Center for Health and Sciences and Technology in Newark, CA.

    •    Registration is OPEN for Science Odyssey 2023!

    Project Registration closes on Friday, February 5, 2023

    Students in grades 1-12 can register to enter projects. Project categories include:

    •    Grades 1-2: Science

    •    Grades 3-12: Science, Engineering

    •    Grades 6-12: Science, Engineering, Computer Science or Math/Data Analysis

    *Special recognition will be given out to winners of the One Water Award, Behavioral Science Award and the Quest Innovation Award.

    We hope this will be a learning experience for the entire family. Please keep in mind, while families may help in the planning process, the work and experiment must be done by the student. Students can work independently or in small groups of two to three individuals and are encouraged to use resources from their science classes and teachers, from the Livermore Public Library's online databases and resources, from the internet, and at home to complete each project.

    When registering, students will describe their project's testable question. For computer science or math projects, students will describe the problem or issue they are addressing.  

    NOTE: Projects may NOT involve weapons, fire, controlled or hazardous materials. These projects will not be accepted for Science Odyssey.

    2023 Logo Contest Information

    Students in grades TK-12 may submit artwork to be used for logos, stickers, the event t-shirt, and promotional materials. Entries must include "2023 Science Odyssey" in the design and must be all original artwork. Designs using copyrighted images will not be accepted. One of the criteria of the winning design is how it will look on a t-shirt. One entry per student. 

    Winners will be selected in each of three categories:

    ● Elementary School

    ● Middle School

    ● High School

    Winning designs will be used to create 2023 Science Odyssey promotional materials. One design will be selected as the design for the t-shirt and sticker given to Science Odyssey participants.

    To enter your art into the contest: 

    ● Entries may be hand-drawn or created digitally.

    ● Entries should be submitted electronically as PDF files or turned into your school office.

    ● ALL students entering the contest MUST fill out the entry form by logging into your LVJUSD Google account and go to bit.ly/lvjusdlogo2023. Here, you will upload your design as a PDF or confirm that you are turning it into your school office.

    ● Your logo design with a completed entry form must be received by 4:00 pm on January 9, 2023.
