Eric Swalwell, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 14th district since 2013, recently conveyed his opinions through a series of tweets. Swalwell, 42, who resides in Livermore, California, and was born in Sac City, Iowa, often uses this platform to communicate with his constituents. He holds a BA from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.

On March 28, 2025, Swalwell expressed his thoughts about Pete Hegseth's tenure as Secretary of Defense, indicating surprise that Hegseth was still in the position. "It’s ABOUT time! Shouldn’t have taken Pete Hegseth a full week to resign. WHAT?!? He’s still the Secretary of Defense?!"

The same day, he commented on Dave Portnoy, commonly known as @stoolpresidente, the founder of Barstool Sports, attributing his success to his directness and courage. Swalwell remarked, "People think @stoolpresidente is popular because he’s funny and kind as he saves all these businesses or because he really knows his sports. All those are true. But the real reason for his success is he sees things that we can all see but he has the courage to say it."

On March 30, 2025, Swalwell criticized former President Donald Trump, comparing him unfavorably to Elon Musk. He asserted that Trump is no longer relevant and is negatively impacting the economy. Swalwell stated, "Bring it. But it’s not happening. This dude is aging like milk. Trump can barely walk or connect words in a sentence. That’s why see Musk more than Trump. Oh, and he’s completely tanking the economy. Ain’t nobody asking him to stick around."
